Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy outlines the rules governing the use of Camping Connect’s managed networks and services. It exists to protect the integrity, security and reliability of all systems, the experience of all end users, and the operational stability of partner sites.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all end users, staff, static owners, guests, contractors, and any other individual or device accessing the network provided by Camping Connect.

3. Prohibited Activities

Users must not engage in any activity that:

  • Disrupts or degrades network performance for others.
  • Attempts to bypass authentication, security controls or filtering systems.
  • Involves unauthorised access to systems, devices, accounts or data.
  • Involves distribution of malware, viruses, ransomware or malicious code.
  • Uses the network for illegal, harmful or unlawful purposes under UK law.
  • Violates copyright, licensing or intellectual property rights.
  • Harasses, threatens or abuses others online.
  • Hosts servers or services without written permission.
  • Uses automated tools that create excessive traffic or load.
  • Alters or interferes with installed equipment or RF environment.

4. High-Bandwidth and Misuse Restrictions

To maintain fair access for all users, the following are restricted:

  • Excessive or continuous downloading, streaming or data transfers.
  • Operation of peer-to-peer file sharing services.
  • Running devices that cause interference or saturate RF spectrum.
  • Use of personal routers, access points or repeaters.

5. Network and Equipment Security

Users must not:

  • Attempt packet sniffing, MITM attacks, scanning or probing.
  • Connect unauthorised networking equipment.
  • Attempt to modify routing, DNS or VLAN configurations.
  • Interfere with installed access points, cabinets, cabling or power supplies.

The service provider reserves the right to block devices posing security risks.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Users must comply with relevant data protection legislation. The service should not be used to harvest or store personal data without consent. Activities that violate privacy rights are prohibited.

7. Monitoring and Enforcement

Camping Connect may monitor network traffic solely for security, diagnostic and operational purposes.

Actions that may be taken in the event of AUP violations:

  • Temporary blocking of devices or accounts.
  • Permanent revocation of access.
  • Billing of callout or remediation fees.
  • Reporting to site management or law enforcement where required.

8. Liability

Camping Connect is not responsible for:

  • User-owned devices or their security.
  • Loss of data, corruption, or device damage caused by misuse.

Users are responsible for ensuring their devices are secure and free from malicious software.

9. Changes to This Policy

This AUP may be updated periodically. The latest version will always be available upon request or via the customer information portal.

10. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the network, users acknowledge and agree to abide by this Acceptable Use Policy.
